As you know, we recently commenced the Building Our Future Capital Campaign and are grateful for all the support our community has shown. We know that our faith calls us to be responsible stewards of all God’s gifts, recognizing that everything we have is a gracious bestowal from the Almighty. As stewards, we are entrusted with the responsibility of caring for and utilizing these gifts wisely and generously. In addition to Our Building Our Future Campaign, our diocese is beginning the 2024 Annual Catholic Appeal. This appeal, which is different than our capital campaign, seeks to provide the people of our diocese with an opportunity to exercise this stewardship by contributing to the various ministries and programs that serve the greater mission of the Church.
When we actively participate in the life of the Christ’s Church, we not only fulfill our duty as stewards but also grow in holiness. Through our engagement in the sacraments, prayer, and service to others, we deepen our connection with God and with one another. The diocesan Annual Catholic Appeal is a means by which we can collectively contribute to the life of our diocese, parish, and the broader church community, enabling us to continue the work of spreading God’s love and mercy.
Your support for the appeal plays a crucial role in sustaining the numerous ministries and initiatives that touch the lives of many, including your own. Seminarian Formation, Family Life Ministries, Campus and Young Adult Ministry, Catholic Cemeteries, Adult Faith Formation, Youth Programs, Our Lady Queen of Peace Retreat Center, RCIA training, PRE training, Deacon Formation, Evangelization, and many more are all helped through the Annual Catholic Appeal. Please watch the video below to see testimonials of the good that the Appeal helps with.
I encourage each one of you, if you are able, to prayerfully consider making a gift to this year’s Annual Catholic Appeal. Together, let us embrace the call to be responsible stewards and grow in holiness through active participation in the life of the Church. I thank you in advance for your generous response to our 2024 Annual Catholic Appeal.
